"Google Glass has zero chance of ever becoming mainstream." What do you think ?

An article from the BizJournals says that Google Glass is never going to become mainstream. What do you think about this ?

I believe it will and that wearable computers are the future, as people are looking for easier ways of communicating and using their gadgets.

I think the guys from BizJournal should define mainstream... if more than 1 million units are sold (and I think it will sell better than that in the first months after the release alone) we could call it mainstream. But this is just my opinion... Mainstream means how many units?

Maybe they meant that mainstream means Glass will be used more for business purposes...

Those articles are mostly click-bait. They guesstimate things just to get some shiny titles.

The problem with articles like these is that they speculate too much. But you cannot blame them. Humans have always struggled to foresee path breaking ideas. Google glass is one of those ideas. Mark my words, Google glass will create history!

1 million is not mainstream. I think they are referring to the popularity of say, the iPhone which has mainstream acceptance and usage.

I personally don't think that it could hit a mainstream level of popularity for a while, the fact is that the technology isn't necessarily fashionable which nixes a lot of people who don't want to walk around with glass on. But wearable computers are definitely in the future, but maybe in a decade will we see them heavily used.

I think it will trend at first and slowly die off similar to the apply craze back in 2005. That being said though I do see it becoming very mainstream very quickly.
