Google Glass Could Worth 3.5 Billion Dollars By 2017
A recent report on VentureBeat suggests that Glass will worth around 3,5 Billion dollars in a couple of years. An analyst calculated that even if 650.000 will be sold by 2017 it will turn to be a very profitable business for Google.
What do you guys think, 650.000 is a pretty low figure considering 3 years of sales...

650,000 by 2017 sounds really low. I believe they will be able to sell more than that.

Extremely low. I expect double and I think I am being realistic

I also think they will sell more. They've been able to sell over 10,000 beta units for $1,500 each. When it will be much cheaper, just imagine how many they will sell.

Yeah, 650,000 seems a very low number. It also depends on how much they can produce. They've had a lot of issues with the Nexus 4 production and that was just a smartphone...

It depends very much of the price. If they'll be cheap, then I believe they can sell million in the first year. If they are able to produce so many, of course.

I've seen that report. It's amazing how many people, myself included, are gearing up to buy Google Glass. Google will definitely make a huge profit.

They will almost certainly sell more than 650,000! It is just a conservative assessment and probably the right one to do at this moment. Am sure with the given brand name of Google and the hype around Google glass they would surely hit the desired sales numbers. The only barrier could be pricing, that would decide how profitable they will be eventually

650,000 is a decent number. Glass is more like a hype at the moment and there aren't many people who would strap a display and camera on their head. Most of them don't need this kind of technology or don't think they need it.
Production might also be a problem, because it's a new product and manufacturing takes a while to setup.

well looking at the report and the type of product I would say , they are about right with the figure. What we can look at is the trend of the other products it is competing with.
