Are there places that ban the Google Glass?

So, we all know that with the Google Glass, people could easily capture a picture or video anytime they want. But is there a limitation to this? Are there certain places that would ban the use of Google Glasses like movie theaters perhaps? I don't want to purchase a device if it would be banned in a lot of places anyway.

There are some places where Google Glass has been already banned such as casinos and A Cafe in Seattle. An interesting article regarding places that will probably ban Glass like banks, near ATMs, Classrooms and so on can be found here..

Maybe we can add places where Google Glass is banned as soon as we discover them in this thread...it would be nice to know before trying to get in with your spectacles on.

I would imagine a lot of places would ban Google Glass. Like Explorer said, some place in Seattle already banned them. I would think once Google Glass is released and available to the public to buy, a lot more places will realize what people can do with Glass and ban having them inside their place (like movie theaters, or basically anywhere cameras are banned)

These are some of the challenges that Google have to overcome inherently! In our country India, we already have quite a few places where cameras are banned. For eg: in theaters, in cricket stadiums etc. So the Google glass will obviously get banned in those places by default and there could be a few more on the list. We have to wait and see.

Why was it banned at the café?

I imagine for privacy issues, no one wants to be recorded and people will want their privacy, so if you're in a private place it's the owners prerrogative to allow it or not.

A quick google search came up with this . A list of places that have banned google glass so far. They don't list each individual business though.

Most likely because a cafe is a place where people like to relax and spend some time alone, in public. That sounds strange but whenever I go to a cafe people are always minding their own business. Privacy mostly I'd guess.

I don't think "wearable tech" is popular enough at the moment for specific restrictions to be set in place, so I'd imagine the same rules for cellphone cameras and taking photographs applies. Factories/offices/museums that don't allow you to take a camera or take pictures inside would most likely restrict the use of Glass as well, although most of them probably wouldn't recognize it at the moment, given its novelty.
